My way into this work has always included the body. It began with Medical Qigong in 2008. In 2011 I traveled to China to train in Zhineng Qigong with Teacher Liu. In 2020 I met Teacher Dao Xin (Wei), and Mingjue became the heart of my practice; I have been organizing and translating for him ever since. Today I also study with Teacher Xu, whose n̈-Tone practice has taken me even deeper.
The body tells the truth in its own language. It shows me where I brace, where I hold back, and where life begins to move again. My practice sometimes takes me to a mountain in China, but mostly it happens at my own home, or on a long walk among the trees.
I practice every day. Some mornings that means meeting my own old patterns and resistance, just like everyone else. Over the years I’ve learned to meet them softly and gently, and each time I come a little more home to myself.
Each of my teachers opened a different door, and I remain their student. I am not the source of what I share. I am someone who walked through those doors and keeps walking.
